A TV series adaptation of James Patterson’s novels about the complex and brilliant detective Alex Cross
Hodge is the third actor to play Cross, following in the footsteps of Morgan Freeman, who first played him on screen in 1997’s Kiss the Girls and again in the 2001 film sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the title character in 2012’s Alex Cross, which bombed at the box office and prompted Lionsgate to scrap a previously planned sequel, Double Cross. When I was driving a truck, I used to chew up the highway a lot while listening to James Patterson’s Alix.
That Detective Cross seemed very different from what I remembered
Cross, but I don’t remember the story or stories it was based on. In fact, I think I was in his years working for the feds instead of the city police.
This series had one major flaw for me
However. It felt like they were running too many stories together.
It was confusing to see the connections at times
Plus, the main villain was almost supervillainous because of how well he was set up to get to anyone at any time. Others here have noted how Morgan Freeman’s portrayal of Cross was different.
